Fuel rules!

Recently I stumbled upon these re-designs that the British graphic design firm Fuel did for Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment. I think they're completely amazing. So simple and interesting at the same time, and intriguing from every angle. Its printed on plain brown paper-bag craft paper. I want one! Unfortunately, these puppies now go for over $400.

Here's a link to some more pictures that I couldn't re-post. The back of the book is really neat too.

Fuel were also the geniuses behind those lovely Marc Jacobs ads that are always the nicest two pages in any magazine you buy (well, minus the creepy miniature human Dakota Fanning ads). You know the ones:

More Toronto Street Fashion.

This is my twin sister, Kari. She is the most stylish citizen of Kingston, Ontario. I want her MJ bag!

I thought I was over buffalo plaid but I like how she took a risk with this outfit and I think it worked out quite nicely.

I love her pants and her whole look.

This one was taken outside the Patrick Wolf show. The girl on the left was wearing a very p.wolf-esque feather headpiece that Patrick himself might have worn but I managed to cut it perfectly out of the picture. Anyway she still looks great. I like the Victorian thing. The other girl looked great too. She was dressed like Jenny Lewis, I think.

On that note, here is a picture of Patrick , my favourite musician in the whole world!

He used to date Final Fantasy until Final Fantasy broke his heart. Its too romantic.

This is hilarious.

So I like to read the missed connections on Craigslist sometimes. I think we all do. Maybe part of me hopes that someone will have been so smitten as to miss a connection with me, or maybe I just find them entertaining. Anyway, I was reading through them this morning when I came across this one:

girl with guitar onstage - 5/25 - m4w - 28

You = girl with fancy haircut (brown hair, shoulder length) and guitar onstage. Me = balcony, seat F54, 6'0", short brown hair, glasses. Could have sworn you made eye contact when you sang something about "feel(ing) it all." Am I crazy, or did we have a moment? Didn't catch your name, but if you're not a lesbian.....coffee?

THIS IS A MISSED CONNCTION FOR FEIST! Hahah. It must have been conceived while she was singing track #2 off her new record, "I Feel It All". Its sort of charming and sort of heartbreaking that someone ACTUALLY thought they had a moment with her from the balcony (through the blinding lights from the stage) AND ACTUALLY thought she would check the missed connections, remember the gentleman in seat F54, and contact him for coffee followed by a beautiful romance, since, she is not, in fact, a lesbian.

Dear Mr.SeatF54, you made my day.
